In light of Fernando Torres’ transfer from Liverpool to Chelsea on transfer deadline day last week, here on FootballFanCast.com we’re taking a look at the heroes and villains of modern day football. Torres certainly isn’t the first player to go from being a hero to a villain in the eyes of Liverpool fans and he won’t be the last either.

Some footballers are villains for their actions on the pitch, whether that’s for bad tackles or dispicable behaviour, while their actions off the pitch can be just as damaging. The same goes for heroes, while some players will be heroes in their fans’ eyes no matter what they do – Alan Shearer being in charge when Newcastle got related comes to mind.

So join us as we celebrate the heroes and villains of football!
